Making a donation to The Parks Trust

If you love your parks as much as we do would you like to help us to conserve them for future generations by making a donation to The Parks Trust?

It costs us over £5 million each year to care for the 5,000 acres of parks and green spaces in Milton Keynes.  As a self-financing charity we have to generate this income ourselves through our investments and our property portfolio. We receive no funding from the Government or local council.

We’ve identified some special projects where your donation would make a real difference to our work.

Black poplars

We’d like to plant 100 black poplar trees. The trees cost about £50 each and we plan to plant them on the river floodplains of the Ouse and Ouzel Valleys which provide an ideal habitat for this extremely rare tree.

Wildflower meadows

Wildflower meadows are a haven for insects, birds and mammals as well as providing areas of great beauty.  We want to create a number of new wildflower areas around our ancient woodlands of Howe Park Wood and Linford Wood and at Hazeley Wood, as well as along stretches of the Trust’s grid road corridors.  We are hoping, with the help of your donations, to purchase £10,000 worth of wildflower seeds.

Bird hides

Volunteers for The Parks Trust have been working hard to regenerate the Stony Stratford Nature Reserve and create wetland habitat for waterfowl and waders.  Your donations would allow us to purchase two new bird hides so that people can view this important wildlife conservation area.  The bird hides will cost approximately £5,000.
