Parks Trust Arboricultural and Landscape Officers Pass Prestigious Industry Qualification

30th May, 2017

Congratulations are in order for two of our Arboricultural and Landscape Officers; Andy Cream and Jim Stimpson. Andy and Jim have recently passed the Lantra awarded ‘Professional Tree Inspection’ course and exam. This is an industry wide qualification for those who work in arboriculture, and is recognised as the significant qualification regarding tree inspections. It is also well regarded within the civil legal system (e.g. as a respected professional opinion) and the arboriculture profession as a whole.

To achieve the qualification, Andy and Jim completed an intensive three-day course (in addition to industry qualifications and experience they already have) with an exam (practical and written).

The course and successful completion of the exam mean Andy and Jim can now further support to The Parks Trust and potentially provide external consultancy to other organisations. It’s a qualification which means they could even act as expert witnesses in civil courts.

Rob Riekie, our Landscape and Operations Director, commented: “We would all like to congratulate Andy and Jim on passing this exam; this is a real achievement as it is a difficult course that is very highly regarded by the industry. They both needed considerable experience in, and knowledge of, tree management to pass.

“There will be many benefits for the Trust with Andy and Jim both holding this qualification; it will help to continue to raise the standard of our arboriculture and individual tree management across the parks. Well done Andy and Jim!”
