Tree Removal at Teardrop Lakes

A number of mature trees have been removed from Teardrop Lakes. Unfortunately some of the tree roots had grown very large and were damaging the paths and creating a potential hazard for walkers, runners and cyclists.

The trees will be replaced by approximately 50 new trees to be planted in the surrounding area this winter.

Rob Riekie, Head of Operations, commented: "Removing trees is always a highly emotive undertaking and we never take this action without careful consideration and drawing upon the expertise of our qualified landscape officers and foresters. Every year The Parks Trust plant around 35,000 new trees and shrubs throughout Milton Keynes to ensure that the city’s green spaces remain healthy and beautiful places to visit."
