Woolstone Green Consultation

The Parks Trust - Woolstone Green Milton Keynes park Have your say on planned improvements to Woolstone Green.

Woolstone Green is a small area of parkland in Woolstone Village next to the Cross Keys pub and alongside Newport Road.

The Green is close to local residents and has the potential to become a valued focal point for the village. The Parks Trust would like to make improvements to this area and has applied, with Campbell Park Parish Council, for funding to undertake this work.

The Parks Trust - Woolstone Green Milton Keynes Parks To ensure that the green space is valued by residents now and in the future the Trust and the Parish Council have undertaken a series of public consultation meetings and a questionnaire in order to discover what local residents would like at the Green.

Following initial feedback a draft plan and artist’s impression of what the green could look like has been created. A further consultation meeting reviewing these plans has taken place, however there’s still time to comment on the plans if you haven’t been able to make any of the meetings.

One of the key elements of improving the Green is to involve local people as much as possible at all stages. When the project starts, volunteer days will be organised to encourage people to help with bulb planting and wildflower seeding as well as giving some horticultural training for those that want to learn more.

A decision from WREN (which distributes community funding) is expected in December 2009 and if the bid is successful, work will commence early in the New Year. The main remodeling will be completed in the spring and planting will be established throughout the summer and autumn.
