Winner of The Parks Trust’s Photography CompetitionOver 540 entries were sent into The Parks Trust’s first Photography Competition supported by Milton Keynes Partnership. The competition had four different categories for both adults and young people, including: wildlife; landscape; parklife and a forth category MK Life to highlight the wider aspects of the city. The winning image also won the wildlife category as well as winning the overall prize. All entries were carefully considered by a panel of judges from The Parks Trust, Milton Keynes Partnership and Milton Keynes College. Commenting on the winning image, David Foster, Chief Executive of The Parks Trust, said: “The competition had a very high standard of entries and we were really pleased that so many people found inspiration in our parks and city. Above and beyond being a wonderful image, the winning image captures the imagination and inspires the viewer to think about the snail’s story, his journey, and his ultimate goal.” The overall winner received £500 in photography vouchers, an official award certificate and the accolade of winning The Parks Trust’s Photography Competition. All short-listed images are currently on display within MK Theatre’s foyer until Monday 15 February 2010 and at Midsummer Shopping Centre in March 2010. To view all the category winners click here |
