Watersports at Willen Lake

Sailing, canoeing, kayaking, power boat racing and windsurfing are all on offer at Willen Lake, with classes for all ages run by the site’s operators Whitecap Leisure. See their Willen Lake site for details of how to take part. The lake is also home to Wake MK where you can try your hand at water-ski-ing using the cable tow.

Canoeing

Milton Keynes Canoe Club was formed in 1970  and we welcome  new members, who can progress at their own rate.

The club operates from Caldecotte Water Sports Centre on the south lake with a membership of 150-200,  our strength being the number of families attracted. We use the facility on Tuesday and Friday evenings each week for courses and training and travel at the weekend to other more specialised events.

For more details see our web site, www.mkcc.co.uk, or contact our chairman at chairman@mkcc.co.uk

Rowing

Milton Keynes Rowing Club is based at the Watersports Centre on Caldecotte South Lake, off Monellan Grove. The club meets on Monday and Thursday evenings (6:30-9.00pm) and Saturday mornings (8.00-11.00am). As well as our annual membership we have special rates for junior, student and retired members, while beginners can do a two-month taster.

All equipment is provided. To find out more come along to one of our training sessions for a chat, contact Nick Cresswell at nick@mkrowing.org , tel: 077362 84401, or see our website www.mkrowing.org.

For teenagers who would like to learn how to row, there is the Junior Rowing Club which meets at the Caldecotte Watersports Centre (next to the Caldecotte Arms pub). For further information, please contact the Caldecotte Project on 01908 232042.
