Volunteer tasks for your organisation

Would you like your organisation to play a part in maintaining the city’s parks for people and wildlife? Perhaps you would like to tackle a project close to your company? Corporate team volunteering is a fantastic opportunity to give your staff a new challenge whilst making a contribution to the local environment.

Whatever you’re looking for, we can arrange a project to suit your needs. We can take groups of between five and twenty people to do anything from digging out ponds to painting picnic furniture.

Time of Year

The bird nesting and growing season generally lasts between April and September. Therefore most ‘heavy’ conservation work like clearing scrub takes place between October and March. However, other tasks are available during the spring and summer such as path construction, fence repair and planting.

Clothing

Whatever the task, don’t expect to stay clean and dry for long! Old clothes are best as you are likely to get clothes snagged. Long sleeves, long trousers and sturdy boots are all essential and please wear warm, waterproof clothing in the colder months. We can provide gardening gloves and hard hats if necessary (but please bring your own gloves if you have them).

Cost

To cover our time and also the provision of tools and materials, we kindly ask for a donation of £150 per day to The Parks Trust. All funds raised from team volunteering are invested in tools and equipment for our volunteer groups.

Refreshments

Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of drinking water, particularly in summer. We will provide tea, coffee and biscuits.
