Dragon Boating

a.dragonboat.jpg

Dragon Boat Racing grew out of China 2,000 years ago and has rapidly spread across the world into a highly popular team sport enjoyed by millions of people.  The boats used for racing are a long and narrow canoe-style boat, and powered by 20 people with a drummer and a helm.

Willen Lake South host the annual popular charity Dragon Boat race every June and thousands of people from MK turn out to watch the teams battle for the winner’s trophy.

Local dragon boating team Secklow Hundred train at Caldecotte Lake North on Sundays at 10am, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.30pm (BST only.)  They are always looking for new members to join in, see club website www.secklow.com for information or email hello@secklow.com
