Planning Your Route to Willen Lake
We’re always interested in receiving feedback from our customers and using this to improve the experience we offer. Recently, we’ve found that some of our visitors aren’t sure of the best way to get to Willen Lake from different locations in Milton Keynes.
Willen Lake is located very close to the centre of the city, only a five minute drive from centre:mk. If you’d like to make the most of the beautiful parkland surrounding Willen Lake, you can walk from the shopping centre, straight through Campbell Park and Newlands, following the signposted path to the lake. This will take about half an hour. To calculate the route, as well as calories you might burn, use the Get Smarter tool here: https://www.getsmartertravelmk.org/journey-planner/
You can use the redways to access Willen Lake on foot from other areas, including the Grand Union Canal, Poplar Plantation and Woolstone. They are also perfect for cyclists – why not continue your bike ride on arrival and do a circuit of the North and South lakes?
For those who don’t want to walk or cycle, Willen Lake is very accessible by road. There are several pay and display car parks on site, and the location is also served by a bus route that leaves from central Milton Keynes.
