We're really excited about what's in store for this coming year, here's some dates not to be missed in 2022!

Each year, we help to organise and enable over 500 events and activities in our parks. From monthly walking and running groups to weekly sessions for toddlers as well as workshops for both children and adults alike, plus a whole host of fun days out for families. Take a look at some of our favourites below...

The Easter Egg Hunt at Great Linford Manor Park. Running from the 25th March to 17th April, follow the clues and solve the puzzles on this free, self-guided trail to locate the Easter eggs hidden around the grounds at Great Linford Manor Park.

In April, join Buckinghamshire Archaeological Society and the Friends of Great Linford Manor Park at the Family Archaeology Afternoon. Over recent years excavation work has been happening at the park to unearth its history. During this event you’ll be able to meet the archaeologists, take a look at the trenches they have been excavating and handle some of the artefacts they have uncovered.

Throughout 2022, we will also be offering five-week immersive Youth Explorer courses aimed at 11-14-year olds. These courses are perfect for children fascinated with wildlife and the environment. During these sessions they’ll gain some practical experience in studying and identifying wildlife and learn some exciting skills such as whittling.

Milton Keynes Walking Festival also returns for 2022, curated by The Parks Trust in partnership with Milton Keynes Council and MK Health Walks this festival will run for three days between Friday 13th and Sunday 15th May. There will be a variety of walks to choose from located across the city. The festival is an excellent opportunity to discover the green spaces on your doorstep that you may not even be aware of.

On Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd May you can join us at Willen Lake for our two-day dog festival, Big Doggie Do. With dog shows, specialist stalls and entertainment across the two days, it’s an event not to be missed. This year’s event will once again feature exciting activities like K9 Aquasport’s dock diving, have-a-go-agility as well as an array of doggie related vendors offering everything from dog leads to pet portraits.

A series of Parkland Play afternoons will also be available this year, comprising of free games and activities that the whole family can enjoy. We will be running Parkland Play events throughout the summer months. So come and take on our Ranger’s challenge in the litter game, play with giant garden games or have a go at sporting activities such as cricket, football or tennis.

Gather family and friends and come along to Great Linford Manor Park to enjoy street food from Milton Keynes’ tastiest vendors at Linford Eats! Explore the newly restored parkland, catch up with loved ones and enjoy live music from a local band. This year we will be running two dates for this event on 16th June and 18th August.

Love Nature Day sees us join forces with local nature groups for an afternoon of fun celebrating the natural world on Saturday 2nd July. There will be lots of activities that will bring you up close to nature and a chance to find out more about how you can help wildlife at home. You’ll also be able to meet local volunteers passionate about moths, swifts and bats, enjoy bug hunting and pond dipping with the Outdoor Learning Team and guided walks with the Rangers.
