Orienteering April 2020

10am
£5 for individuals and families
All ages

In orienteering you navigate your way between control points marked on a specially drawn map. While there are plenty of people who enjoy the sport competitively, racing between posts in the fastest possible time, it’s perfectly OK to enjoy orienteering at your own pace, whatever your age or level of fitness – and you’ll see more of the parks that way. But you could also get together with members of your club, school or even neighbourhood to organise a competition.

Join South Midlands Orienteering Club for monthly orienteering event. This months event takes place at Howe Park Wood.

Park in the car park off H7 Chaffron Way, opposite Westcroft District Centre.

Howe Park is probably the woodland mentioned in the Domesday Survey of 1086. Parts of it may be rare surviving fragments of the 'wildwood' that covered the whole of lowland Britain after the last Ice Age, 6-11,000 years ago.

There is a café at Howe Park Wood serving cakes, drinks and cold foods.
