Over 55's Hazeley_18.JPG

Join our team to rediscover old skills, learn new ones and meet like minded people.

This new outdoor learning group allows you to meet every other Tuesday to socialise, cook food and learn hands on skills in the outdoors.  Our activities are led by you, whether it be learning how to light a fire using seven different methods, whittling a spoon out of wood, or going for a walk to identify trees and wildflowers, the choice is yours and we have plenty of options on offer!

So why join?  You will:

  • Discover new skills and meet new people
  • Enhance your health and wellbeing
  • Keep physically and mentally active whilst embracing the outdoors

Each session costs £5 per head and will alternate between Elfield Park Nature reserve and another green space in Milton Keynes.

Hazeley Wood was planted by Milton Keynes Development Corporation in 1991. The long-term aim was to create a mature oak woodland for the new city. After many years of being a field of trees Hazeley is finally beginning to look and feel like a woodland. But there is still a long way to go: the wood will not finally reach maturity until 2141.

There are no facilities in the wood. The nearest shops are at Grange Farm, about ten minutes’ walk away, or Shenley Church End local centre or the Westcroft Centre, both of which are a few minutes' drive away.
