New for 2019!

Join the Outdoor Learning Team for monthly activities, visiting different parks throughout the year.  Learn Bushcraft skills such as fire lighting and shelter building; join a walk discovering the wetland birds in our Floodplain Forest; investigate the animals which live in our freshwater habitats.

These sessions are suitable for adults and families/community groups. Any children must be accompanied by a fee paying adult and a few sessions are only suitable for children over 12 years of age.  You must wear suitable outdoor clothing as we will be outside for the duration of the session.

Wildlife Wanderers session - enjoy the local parkland and learn about the highlights of the park and some interesting wildlife facts. Enjoy an interactive game of nature bingo/nature scavenger hunt. A gentle stroll covering 2-3 miles and taking in the beautiful surroundings.

Fresh water investigation session - a great opportunity to explore local ponds within our parkland and identify the plants and creatures living within the waters. You’ll learn how to identify species with your pond identification sheet and enjoy using nets and trays to sift through what you’ve found

Insect surveys - explore your local parkland and identify the variety of bugs and insects thriving within the long grass areas of Milton Keynes. Come along to capture and check out the details of butterflies, spiders, moths and much, much more.

Birdwatching Walk - Take a walk through a unique nature reserve and take in the wealth and variety of bird species that reside there. The birding hotspots are great for bird lovers – birds commonly seen in the area include; birds of prey, Green Woodpeckers and flocks of Swallows and House Martins feeding are commonly observed throughout this season before migrating.
