What is the 'Outstanding Junior Rangers' Award?

Outstanding Junior Rangers Award - Media

The Junior Park Rangers programme is designed to engage children in the natural world, their local parks and the wildlife they can find there. The ‘Outstanding Rangers Award’ was introduced in 2015 and is given to a JPR school that goes above and beyond in their role as ambassadors for The Parks Trust. Winners receive certificates and £200 to be used for nature resources for their school, or outdoor learning sessions with The Parks Trust.

Past winners:

  • 2023 - Giles Brook Primary School

  • 2022 - Rickley Park School

  • 2019 - Long Meadow School

  • 2018 - Great Linford Primary School

  • 2017- Bradwell Village School

  • 2016- Olney Middle School

  • 2015- Charles Warren Academy

What do you need to do to win?

The Award recognises a school that not only participated in the programme but came up with exceptional and creative ways to share and contribute to the work of The Parks Trust with their school as well as the wider community.

The award is simple and easy to enter. School JPR coordinators submit a record of the groups activities in June, showcasing all the fantastic projects and activities completed by the Rangers throughout the school year. This record can be a scrapbook, folder, photos, film or any other method of presentation. The idea is to make it as flexible as possible.

The Outdoor Learning team will consider all entries and choose one overall winner and up to three finalists.
