Due to the current Government guidelines around Coronavirus (COVID-19) we have decided to pause all volunteer recruitment and volunteer activity until further notice

We ask that all of our volunteers, who under normal circumstances do so much to help us look after our parks and the wildlife to be found in the parks, to stay safe and please stay at home.

The Buckingham Canal Society is looking for active volunteers to help clear some vegetation.

Why not make a New Year's resolution to try something different and get involved with helping to restore the canal link between Cosgrove and Buckingham.

The next practical working party is Sunday 8th March 2020 meeting at 10.00 to work at our Bourton Meadow site. Parking is in Burleigh Piece, Buckingham, MK18 7HX. Burleigh Piece is a crescent so please park near to BM Academy school.  Please wear suitable clothes and bring lunch.

They have four sites where they are working at present but because we have been spending a lot of time at our Cosgrove site this site at Bourton Meadow has become very overgrown so we need people to help clear reeds and brambles from the canal bed and towpath plus a variety of other tasks. No experience is necessary as training is given on-site. The BCS supply all tools and equipment and people just need to bring lunch and wear suitable outdoor gear that you don't mind getting a bit muddy. Anyone needing more information please email info@buckinghamcanal.org.uk or problems finding us on the day please contact the mobile no is 07721 319404
