EVENTS AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT MANAGER

Support the Events and Community Engagement Manager in developing and delivering the Trust’s events and activities programme.
Support the Events and Community Engagement Manager in areas of community engagement.
Build and maintain strong and mutually beneficial relationships with community groups and organisations.
Increase awareness of the parks, raise the Trust’s profile and enhance its reputation through events and activities in the parks.
Support organisations, groups and individuals to hold events and activities in the parks and ensure they abide by appropriate terms and conditions.
Ensure events and activities in our parks are properly organised, safe, well attended and enjoyable.
Assist in the development of the events and activities programme.
Manage and deliver identified internal events projects, both large and small with support from the Events and Community Engagement Manager.
Support production of recreational activities in the parks.
Support community groups and others to facilitate events within the parks and ensure that those events are complementary to the aims and objectives of the Trust and that the health and safety of the public is not compromised.
With the support of the Volunteer Coordinator, make effective use of volunteers.
Promote the parks as venues for community, cultural, educational and creative activities.
Working with the Events and Marketing Officer to ensure that events, sports and recreational activities are well promoted.
Ensure that the activities and events programme responds to the wishes of the park users and potential park users.
Represent the Trust at external events and be an effective advocate for the organisation.
Supporting and working with internal and external teams, individuals and organisations to promote and support Community Engagement and responsible use of the parks.
Assist with managing events equipment and associated resources.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
Full driving licence.
Flexible and adaptable, the role will involve weekend and evening working.
Experience of dealing with members of the public.
Experience in the field of event management, outdoor recreation or visitor services.
A successful track record of organising events and event production.
A good understanding of health and safety, risk assessment and public liability matters.
An outgoing and engaging personality.
Well developed written and verbal communication skills.
Good physical fitness.
Experience of working with and supporting communities and community based organisations
Experience of working with volunteers.
A keen interest in and empathy with the work of the Trust.
Degree level education or qualifications in Event Management and/or project management.
