History of the Park

Although now a public open space, in the 17th and 18th centuries Great Linford Manor Park was the private garden of the impressive manor house. But the story of the landscape as a settlement began long before that, with origins in the Saxon period.
Funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund is enabling us to reveal this history of the park and tell stories long-forgotten. Click on the images below to discover more about the fascinating history.
