The Oakgrove development, which lies within one of the original ‘grid squares’ of the Milton Keynes plan is now at an advanced stage of construction, having commenced in about 2011. In total the residential area will have 1,300 homes, which will benefit from being positioned close to the Ouzel Valley Linear Park.
The development includes a central greenspace corridor, which contains a series of ponds that take surface water run-off from the built-up area and provide habitat for protected species of wildlife including great crested newts. This central green corridor and some children’s play areas within the development, which have been laid out by the developer of Oakgrove, are proposed to be transferred into the care of the Parks Trust before the Oakgrove development is completed.
