Gnomon

Gnomon (Shadow Caster) by Peter Bowker (1994)
Composed of Ffestiniog blue grey slate and bronze, Gnomon was commissioned by The Parks Trust specifically for the site. A gnomon is the stationary arm that projects the shadow on a sundial and this sculpture has been designed to act as a shadow caster. A ley-line runs through the centre of Milton Keynes and the sculpture takes its reference from this ancient track.
