Tenant Talks: Ad Valorem

Published: 19/09/2025

The Parks Trust was setup as an independent charity in 1992 with an endowment of income-generating commercial properties. Our property portfolio has developed over the years with careful management of our investments which generate the primary source of funding for our wide-ranging work today and forever.

Our valued tenants play a vital role in our charity’s success story, so we want to share their stories too and find out how their businesses have been able to evolve as a Parks Trust tenant.

We started by chatting to Nikki Adams (named by Ignition in the Top 50 Women in Accounting in 2023) who is Director of Ad Valorem, an award-winning accountancy firm based at our Grade II listed offices at Manor Farm Court in Milton Keynes.

The Parks Trust's commitment to flourishing tenant businesses is paramount, because their success = our success. To ensure we provide the best, we have a dedicated team of local Property Managers who really get to know tenant businesses and create collaborative business communities.

What services does Ad Valorem offer?

Ad Valorem provides a comprehensive suite of accountancy services, supporting businesses with everything from day-to-day bookkeeping and tax planning to strategic financial advice, audit and cloud accounting solutions. Renowned for our forward-thinking approach, the firm assists clients of all sizes, empowering them to achieve sustainable growth and navigate ever-evolving financial landscapes with confidence. The award-winning team is committed to innovation, personal service, and building lasting relationships that help businesses thrive.

How long have you been a tenant of The Parks Trust?

We have been tenants since 2019 and renewed our lease for another 10 years last year. We had a client who was in units 1 & 2, but as the pandemic struck and more space became available, we snapped up units 3 and 4 too!

How has your business changed in that time?

Since 2019, Ad Valorem has expanded its services massively, strengthened its team from a headcount of 30 to 80, and embraced cloud accounting and digital solutions. The firm has grown within Manor Farm Court, taking on new units, and invested in staff development and technology. Ad Valorem has also increased its community involvement and support for clients, especially during the pandemic. Industry recognition highlights our ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation.

In 2024, Ad Valorem embarked on an exciting new chapter by merging with ETL Global, an international network of professional service firms. This strategic alliance has enabled Ad Valorem to broaden its expertise, offer clients access to global resources, and expand its reach beyond local boundaries. The merger has strengthened the firm's capabilities in cross-border taxation, international compliance, and advisory services, ensuring that clients benefit from innovative solutions on a worldwide scale while maintaining the personalised, forward-thinking support that defines Ad Valorem.

Why did you choose to base your offices at Manor Farm Court?

At Ad Valorem, we believe that a thriving, positive workplace culture is at the heart of everything we do. In the wake of the pandemic, fostering a sense of belonging and creating an environment where people genuinely want to come to work has become more important than ever. Our commitment to open communication, collaboration, and wellbeing has helped us build a team that feels supported, valued, and inspired. We host regular team-building events, offer flexible working arrangements, and encourage professional development, all of which contribute to a vibrant culture where our people can flourish. For us, a welcoming and dynamic workplace isn’t just a benefit - it’s fundamental to our continued success and our ability to deliver outstanding service to our clients.

We are incredibly fortunate to be based at Manor Farm Court, which offers a unique blend of amenities that enhance the working day. Set amidst the tranquil beauty of the Floodplain Forest Nature Reserve, our offices provide direct access to green open spaces, scenic walking trails, and peaceful surroundings. I take real delight in seeing walking groups venture out at lunchtime to recharge in nature, and it’s inspiring to see colleagues making the most of the setting by running or cycling after work. These amenities not only support wellbeing and work-life balance, but also help to foster the vibrant, healthy workplace culture that we value so highly. And every now and then, we’ve had the odd duck sitting patiently on the mat waiting to be let in or found ourselves rescuing an escaped sheep or cow; just a few of the charming moments that make Manor Farm Court such a special place to work.

What’s it like to be a tenant of The Parks Trust?

We have found The Parks Trust to be exceptionally amenable landlords, always ready to engage in open dialogue about ways to enhance our experience as tenants. Their approach is refreshingly collaborative; they listen attentively to suggestions and are keen to identify opportunities for improvement, all while remaining sensitive to budget considerations and fully aware of the commercial realities involved in maintaining the site. This balanced and thoughtful attitude has truly fostered a positive relationship, making Manor Farm Court not just a place to work, but a supportive environment where our business can continue to grow and thrive.

Where do you see Ad Valorem 10 years from now?

Looking ahead, we have ambitious plans to continue growing Ad Valorem, expanding our presence into many more locations while remaining true to the values and environment that have shaped our success so far.

Manor Farm Court has set the standard for the kind of space we want our team to enjoy; spaces that blend character, history, and a vibrant atmosphere that inspires both collaboration and wellbeing. Our new office in Cambridgeshire, also housed in a beautifully converted farm building, is a testament to the lasting influence of Manor Farm Court; it’s clear that the unique setting here has established a blueprint for what we seek in all future locations.

By choosing workplaces that foster community and creativity, we’re confident that Ad Valorem’s growth will be accompanied by a strong, positive culture wherever we go.
