Volunteer Non‑Executive Director Opportunity at Willen Lake

Whitecap Leisure Limited is seeking expressions of interest from experienced and motivated individuals to join our Board as a Volunteer Non‑Executive Director (NED).
Whitecap Leisure oversees the operation and continued development of Willen Lake, one of Milton Keynes’ most iconic leisure destinations. As we plan for the future, we are looking to strengthen our Board with additional expertise that can help guide the organisation’s strategic direction, support good governance, and ensure we continue to deliver an exceptional visitor experience for our community.
About the role
As a Non‑Executive Director, you will:
- Provide independent guidance, oversight, and constructive challenge to the Executive Team
- Support long-term strategic planning and commercial decision‑making
- Champion strong governance, safety, and operational excellence
- Act as an ambassador for Willen Lake and the wider organisation
- Commit to attending Board meetings typically 5 per annum
This is a voluntary role, offering a rewarding opportunity to play a part in shaping the future of Willen Lake and contributing to a dynamic, community‑focused leisure environment.
Who we're looking for
We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with professional experience in:
- Sports, either participation, operations, or sports development
- Commercial leisure, including attractions, recreation, hospitality, events, or venue management
You will bring strategic insight, commercial acumen, and a passion for community leisure. Previous Board experience is welcome but not essential.
