Walk & Talk: How to Spot an Otter
Otters are one of MK's more elusive residents, with sightings increasing each year. Come along to find out more top tips on how to find them in your local park.
With interest in the species growing each year, why not join us to find out how to increase your chances of spotting an otter in your local park? European otters leave lots of signs of their activity, which help us to narrow down where to stake out and hope for a glimpse. Our team will guide you on a walk around one of our known otter territories, teaching you how to look out for their behaviours, and hopefully finding signs of activity ourselves.
This engaging guided walk will take place at Linford Lakes Nature Reserve. This is Milton Keynes' most diverse site and is only open to permit holders and for selected events and outdoor learning activities throughout the year.
Please note - this guided walk is an introduction to the techniques of looking for otters and does not guarantee a sighting. Suitable for adults and accompanied children aged 12 years and over.
Secure your place now to discover some top tips on how to increase your chances of spotting these playful mammals in their natural habitat.
We host a variety of walks, talks and workshops for adults covering many different topics including bushcraft, wildlife surveying, foraging, woodland management and wellbeing.
