Join us for a walk around the site of a medieval motte and bailey castle at Shenley Toot. We will explore the heritage of the area and try to identify the features of the castle amongst the lumps and bumps that remain. For most of the year the site is occupied by cattle (who mow the grass for us), but we will have the Toot to ourselves for this walk!

Prepare to get muddy, as the site is often quite boggy at this time of year! Walking boots or wellies are recommended. The site does not have an easily accessible path through it, and the ground is uneven and can be slippery. Although the site is quite small, we are going to walk from Shenley Wood and back, so the walk will be approximately 1.6 miles in total.

There are no toilet facilities at this site. A hearing loop is available on request. Please contact us by email at outdoorlearning@theparkstrust.com for any further accessibility information or support.

This is an adult only session. Book now to secure your place.
