Walking Festival: Electra Family Walk and Glide from Waterhall
Enjoy this lovely family friendly walk and glide with Electra as part of the Walking Festival 2026
We're super pleased to be partnering with Electra again for the Walking Festival 2026! Their circular tours on Electra Walk & Glide Cruises are a wonderful way to discover more of the hidden delights of Milton Keynes.
You can explore more parkland and countryside because you walk one way with a guide and then relax on a gentle cruise back on all-electric MK Community Boat Electra.
For the 2026 MK Walking Festival, Electra Walk & Glide routes explore the south of the city. Events are across the entire festival and start from Dobbies, Watling St bridge, Waterhall Park, or from the Three Locks in Soulbury.
Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May (10am to 11:45am)
Walk in the Park and Boat Ride
Meeting Point: Mill Road Car park, Waterhall Park
What 3 Words: tiles.prop.small
Pace: Gentle
Length: 50 minutes Walk
The easy guided walk takes 50 minutes on various paths in Waterhall Park, along the River Ouzel and the Lombardy Poplar Broadwalk. Then it’s time to find Electra on the towpath and take a 45-minute round trip to Fenny Stratford and back, spotting canal life and wildlife from on board the boat.
Electra is a 12-seater narrowboat, so places on each event are limited to 12 people. Places can be booked up to two hours before the start of each walk, but to be sure of a place it’s best to book early. Electra is run by volunteers to support the Bedford & Milton Keynes Waterway Trust, so there is a ticket charge.
Full information and online booking is on the Electra website.
