Love Wetlands Day

Come along to the Floodplain Forest Nature Reserve on Friday 21st August for a fun filled afternoon discovering and celebrating the natural world.

We are celebrating 10 years of the Floodplain Forest Nature Reserve and the ongoing Wetland Arc project!

Take part in themed crafts and activities, learn about habitats and the fascinating creatures living in them, and enjoy some refreshments.

Find out more about the wetlands of Milton Keynes and meet local wildlife groups to learn about how to help our local wildlife.

The Parks Trust activities on the day will include;

• Wetland Arc trail
• Photo bench with themed props
• A chance to have your say on the Wetland Arc project
• Wetland themed lino printing activity
• Bug hunting
• Learn all about moths
• Guided walks through the reserve
• Bird watching in the hide

Visitors will also be able to enjoy;

• Nature themed activities with BUDs Outdoor Play
• Art and photography gallery by Camphill
• Wetlands weaving activity with MK Arts Centre

A number of amazing wildlife challenges will also be joining us including; 

• Save Wolverton's Swifts and Martins
• Butterfly Conservation
• RSPB North Bucks
• Canal and Rivers Trust
• Woodland Trust
• British Dragonfly Society
• Milton Keynes Natural History Society

Refreshments:

Roasted and Toasted will be on site providing tasty toasties and amazing coffees and drinks and Milton Creams will also be there with their fantastic selection of ice creams.

This site is also a great place to have a picnic, why not bring one along to enjoy under the trees.

• Toilet facilities and refreshments are available on site.
• This event is designed for families. Under-18s must be accompanied by an adult throughout the event.
