Discover the wonders of wildlife this February half term at Howe Park Wood’s Education Centre. Our theme is mammals in winter, and there’s plenty to explore:

  • Uncover the secret lives of otters and learn what they like to eat.
Get up close to our collection of taxidermy mammals for a fascinating look at these incredible creatures.
  • Become a nature detective by identifying which mammals have visited the woods through their tracks and trails.
  • Plus, enjoy our popular colouring activities, perfect for all ages!

All activities are free and suitable for families. All ages are welcome.

Howe Park Wood is one of the city’s jewels, a tranquil oasis, humming with wildlife and colour. As well as being home to a wide variety of wildlife, Howe Park Wood boasts more than 200 plant species, some so rare that English Nature has designated it a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its wildlife value.

Looking for more? You can also pre-book a space on a guided wellbeing walk to explore the beauty of Howe Park Wood. Please note this is a paid activity.
