Ever spotted a blue butterfly and didn’t know what species it was? Want to take part in The Big Butterfly Count but don’t know your Painted Ladies from your Peacocks?

Join Parks Trust experts on an introductory butterfly identification stroll, while also helping us work out what species are living in Ouse Valley Park. The results of this survey will be included in our exciting new Wetland Arc Project, which is shining a spotlight on how humans and wildlife move about and interact with parks along the north of Milton Keynes.

This walk is suitable for all ages and is the perfect introduction to Citizen Science.

Ouse Valley Park is mostly flat, and the majority of the walk will take place on paved paths but we may venture into grassland to spot certain plants or animals. The walk will be at a leisurely pace with regular stops throughout. There are few benches on this route and they are sporadic so you may wish to bring a portable stool with you if required.

Free car parking is available and there is step-free access from the car park into the park. There are no toilets available at this site although customer toilets can be found in nearby pubs and supermarkets. The nearest bus stops are on Newport Road and Grafton Street – around 5 minutes’ walk away.

We would love to make these sessions enjoyable for all, so please do get in touch on wetlandarc@theparkstrust.com if you have any accessibility requirements. A hearing loop is available on request.
