About Shearing Park

The Parks Trust has taken on this new area of parkland in the Whitehouse area for it to be enjoyed for years to come.

When naming this new play area, we enlisted the help of local residents and school children. Choosing from a list of names that were inspired by the history of this area, some of the land was once part of an old clay pit and a section was part of the 'Common Farm' which is why the local streets are named after breeds of sheep. After votes were counted the residents declared Shearing Park their winner.

Play Area

The newly created play area in Shearing Park is a great place for children of different ages and abilities to spend time. The play area is designed for older children around 5 to 14 years to enjoy.

The play area features a multi-ball court with football goals and basketball hoops and a separate shooting area. Options to climb including a play fort and a large climbing frame. There are swings, slides, a tunnel and a carousel. Furthermore there are options to explore ones agility with the use of the balancing logs and boulders.

The shelters and benches provided give opportunity to rest in the beautifully landscaped areas. There is plenty to discover in this new park that will keep your young ones entertained!
