We are seeking an artist to create a brand-new outdoor art piece for the Education Centre at Howe Park Wood.

Artists will be asked to create a piece that raises awareness of the significance of pollination and/or pollinators which are under threat, and the relevant features found at Howe Park Wood. This ancient woodland located in the southwest of Milton Keynes is classified as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to it being home to over 200 plant species some of which are extremely rare.

This newly designed artwork should be for the enjoyment and engagement of the public, many of whom are local residents, including dog walkers, families, and school groups. Howe Park Wood attracts people from across Milton Keynes as it is well connected with public transport links. The building offers toilets, a café, and Education Centre that’s open during holidays and for special events in The Parks Trust community engagement calendar.

We have been awarded Section 106 funding for this project.

If you are an artist interested in working on this exciting new project, please review the design brief and submit a proposal detailing how you will meet the requirements with your design.

If you have any questions, please get in touch on outdoorlearning@theparkstrust.com.

Submissions are to be sent to outdoorlearning@theparkstrust.com by Sunday 28th April. The successful candidate will be informed in May.
