With so many parks to choose from, we've pulled together our top picks for accessible visits, with information about paths, parking and facilities to help you plan your trip with confidence.
Willen Lake – best for facilities and flat paths
Willen Lake makes nature accessible for everyone. Accessible surfaced paths run around both the north and south lakes, and the site includes accessible toilets near Splash 'n' Play as well as a Changing Places facility at the Watersports Centre. There’s step free access to Drift Bar & Kitchen and plenty of Blue Badge parking on-site (car parking charges apply). It's a brilliant option for a full day out, with plenty to see and do at your own pace.
Furzton Lake – best for a relaxed lakeside visit
Furzton Lake has seen significant accessibility improvements in recent years. Paths around the lake are mostly firm and wide, with step-free access from the Watling Street and Lynmouth Crescent entrances. Blue Badge parking is available at both the Shirwell Crescent and Triple Star car park. Accessible toilet facilities are available for park users at the Italian Sul Lago during opening hours.
Caldecotte Lake – best for a scenic accessible walk
Caldecotte Lake offers a largely flat circular route around the water, with paths wide enough for wheelchair users through most of the park. Please be aware that there are some stepped and steeply sloped areas around the site. It's free to park here with Blue Badge parking available.
Great Linford Manor Park – best for a historic accessible outing
Great Linford Manor Park is a beautiful setting with Blue Badge parking available at both the Marsh Drive and Parklands car parks (both free). The most accessible entrance is off Marsh Drive, with step-free level access into the park. Paths include some slopes and gravel surfaces, so it's worth planning your route in advance. Please note that there are no toilet facilities on site.
Stanton Low Park – best for open countryside
Stanton Low Park has great Blue Badge parking provision with free parking available at Selkirk Drive car park. The park offers open countryside views, a play area and picnic spots, with step-free access from both the Selkirk Drive and Newport Road entrances. Some paths include steep gradients and uneven surfaces, and kissing gates on some routes may create obstacles for certain users. Please note there are no toilet facilities on site.

We run a programme of events specifically designed to be inclusive and accessible. Here's a flavour of what's available:
Inclusive Strolls
Our Inclusive Strolls are gentle guided walks designed for all ages and abilities. Routes are selected to be wheelchair accessible, avoiding muddy paths and steep slopes. They take place regularly at parks across the network, including Willen Lake, Furzton Lake, Ashland Lakes, Campbell Park and Lodge Lake.
Wheelchair Rambles
Our guided Wheelchair Rambles are designed to build confidence visiting our parks in a wheelchair, with a friendly member of the team on hand throughout. Rambles take place at selected parks throughout the year.
5 Ways Café at St Andrew's Church
A relaxed, dementia-friendly café at Great Linford Manor Park, open for a cuppa, a chat and an optional gentle guided walk. A welcoming space for everyone.
Good to know before you visit
Parking: Blue Badge parking is available at all five parks listed above. Charges apply at Willen Lake and at Furzton Lake's Shirwell Crescent car park for stays over 2 hours. All other parks listed have free parking.
Toilets: During opening hours, accessible toilet facilities are available at Willen Lake near Splash 'n' Play and at Furzton Lake inside The Italian Sul Lago. Accessible toilets are also available at Caldecotte Lake at Hickory's Smokehouse. Please note that Great Linford Manor Park and Stanton Low Park do not have toilet facilities on site.
Paths and surfaces: Surfaces and gradients vary across our parks. The AccessAble guides linked on each park page give detailed information about path surfaces, obstacles and gradients to help you plan your visit.
Dogs: Dogs are welcome in our parks. Please keep them on a lead around livestock, in ancient woodlands and near water edges.
