As you’re out and about around the Parks, you may come across grazing animals. The Parks Trust works with a farming partner and a number of our fields are used to graze our animals. At the height of summer, the Trust has around 350 to 500 cattle and 400 sheep out in our fields. You'll find sheep in our meadows across our estate to help ‘mow’ and enrich the grass without having to use heavy machinery. Please keep them safe by keeping all dogs on leads. From early spring to the autumn, the Trust has around 350 to 500 cattle out and about in our fields. They will be moved to different fields to ensure they have sufficient food and reduce the impact on the land. The Parks Trust’s property portfolio includes 45 permanent paddocks and five temporary paddocks throughout the city. Paddocks vary in size, accommodating one two or three horses.Sheep Grazing
