Parks & Ride: Loughton Valley
Family and beginner friendly guided ride around our parks.
Join us for our final standard Parks and Ride of 2026 at Lodge Lake on Sunday 25 October. This fun, family-friendly event will take you on a scenic bike ride, exploring the area and highlighting some great cycling routes along the way. It’s the perfect chance to get the bikes out, enjoy the outdoors, and have some fun together! Ride distance is around 10km (6 miles), taking approximately 60–90 minutes.
The ride will follow a mix of leisure routes, Redways, and may include short sections on-road or on trails. This route will follow Loughton Valley, taking in the balancing lake, and as far as the famous Concrete Cows and Roman villa at Bancroft. This route features more slopes than usual but is still very accessible and beginner friendly. We always take our time and regroup regularly. All routes have been carefully planned and checked to ensure they are suitable for all riders and bike types. This route has an alternate version should the valley be affected by rain in previous days.
To take part, please meet at Lodge Lake, Bradwell Road. What3Words location: automate.frog.rinse.
We can’t wait to see you there and enjoy a great ride together!
