This event is in the past. This page is for information purposes only.

Avoid the crowds and join our friendly staff on this exploratory guided walk of Willen Lake South in Milton Keynes on Wednesday 17th April at 11am. With the route designed to be accessible for walking and wheeling, everyone is welcome to attend. We will meet at the Willen Observation Wheel, which is located off the V10 Brickhill Street (see below for precise location), where there are accessible toilets (including Changing Places) and a cafe. We will then walk around lake and learn about wildlife and the activities that happen here.

The walk will last roughly 1 hour and covers approximately 2 kilometers. There are some benches along the route for rest stops, but you may wish to bring a walking seat. We will use surfaced paths which can be bumpy in localised areas, but we will be avoiding large slopes. There is some background road noise along the route. Please get in touch to tell us how we can support your accessibility requirements. A hearing loop is available on request.

Timings: Please arrive in time to find a parking space and pay for parking.

Getting here: There is a large car park near the Watersports Centre, called Car Park B. It is located off V10 Brickhill Street at What3Words /// duty.craftsman.casual. There is a small fee for parking. There are plenty of accessible parking spaces and step-free access to paths. This car park does have a height barrier, but other car parks around the lake do not.

Drop-off/pick-up: You should instruct the driver to drive to the car park behind the Willen Observation Wheel.

Meeting place: We will meet at the bottom of the Willen Observation Wheel.

Toilets: There are accessible toilets (including Changing Places) at the Watersports Centre.

Refreshments: Change Please cafe operates from the Watersports Centre.

Route Information: View the detailed route on PlotaRoute.
