Visit Howe Park Wood during the Summer Holidays for our Open Mornings and gain access to the Education Centre. The centre is free to visit and is family-friendly for all ages, drop-in anytime between 9:30am-12:30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 25th July - 31st August.

This week's theme is Birds so come along to take part in free activities to learn more about the animals that dominate the skies. Take part in a free bird walk in the woods, ID birds from their feathers and complete our bird beak challenge.

We will also have artefacts on display (such as nests, skulls and feathers) that were found across our different parks, nature-themed challenges, and self-guided trails.

Howe Park Wood is one of the city’s jewels, a tranquil oasis, humming with wildlife and colour. As well as being home to a wide variety of wildlife, Howe Park Wood boasts more than 200 plant species, some so rare that English Nature has designated it a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its wildlife value.

There is free parking available on site, public toilets and Grounds Cafe for refreshments.
