Walk & Talk: Family Bat Walk Floodplain Forest
The Floodplain forest Nature Reserve was formerly pasture land before being quarried for sand and gravel by Hanson between 2007 and 2014. Once quarrying ceased, the site was redeveloped with 2km of footpaths, bridges and boardwalks and three bird watching hides installed, giving great views across this new landscape and its rich wildlife within. The nature reserve wasn’t opened until August 2016 but quickly gained a reputation for being an outstanding place to spot all manner of wildlife including multiple species of Bat. Find out all about these bats, where to find them, and how to spot them on this guided walk and talk from one of our bat enthusiasts.
Suitable for the whole family, children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Booking essential.
